London LandscapesBy Alan Lancaster13th November 2016

I painted this picture in site during the first weeks of November. Despite being a relatively dull day the Autumn colours made it rich in colour. The painting was purchased by the mother of the man sitting on the left of the picture, to be presented on Christmas Day

This painting of Highbury is 12″ x 10″  and was executed towards the end of October I did this painting over two sessions. Both of them were really quite cold and I made the mistake of working too close  to a secondary school at the end of the day. Most of the kids were reasonably…

The Admiral’s House from Fenton House

London LandscapesBy Alan Lancaster18th October 2015

The Admiral’s House, once painted by John Constable, has a perfect viewpoint from Fenton House Gardens. The gardens at Fenton House are perfectly maintained and are rich in floral colour even at this time of the year. It always looks immaculate but I have never yet seen a gardener there.

This painting of East Finchley tube station is 12″ x 10″ I painted this on my way back from the city on Sunday. After setting up and starting the drawing, a member of staff came out to tell me I was too close to the line which meant I had to move and redraw it…
