This  painting  was started the week after the smaller 10″ x 12″  version and involved two sessions on site followed with a little tweaking in the studio. I have tried to maintain  the spontaneity of the smaller painting but introduced a little more detail.

It was only a few days before Christmas and the weather was bitterly cold  and the wind  took hold of the larger canvas on more than one occasion. On the second sitting it just became hard work and after about an hour I resigned myself to completing it in the studio.
