Tower Bridge Early Morning 12 x 10″

This is one of several studies I have made of Tower bridge early on a Sunday morning.

Momentary changes in the light conditions are very noticeable on the water as is tidal movement. I have not worked out yet why water levels can vary so substantially from one day to the next even at similar times of the day.

It is surprisingly easy to find parking space in Wapping early on Sundays and an unexpected tranquility considering it is so close the city centre. The nearby cafe at St Catherine’s dock provides a suitable break time retreat and sometimes welcome toilet opportunity.
