This is a view from Alexandra Palace during September. Dimensions 12″ x 10″
Looking down from Alexandra Palace over London is like viewing rapidly moving light show in progress. Light changes continuously whatever one is painting but when looking over several miles changes in cloud formations, even far over over the city can suddenly illuminate distant buildings. Likewise, the sun over Crouch end can, in an instant, illuminate the sides of a complete rows terraces in Ferme Park road creating pattern and enhancing perspective.
I started this painting one day and when I returned the middle distance had taken on a different hue. I adjusted this part of the picture with a thin glaze of blue.
