Ken Howard Plein Air Painter
I recently went to Venice to paint alongside the godfather of plein air painting, Ken Howard. One of Ken’s favourite locations in Venice he refers to as ‘The Bins’. A former venetian painting spot of Monet’s, this small projection next to The Grand Canal is now a collection point for the local bin men. Ken Howard was a tireless inspirational painting companion and I could not resist including him in this small 12″ x 10″ painting. I selected a shaded spot to paint from as I was exhausted from a day’s painting but the energetic Ken painted his third effort that day in the full sun.
