There were a few days in the last to weeks of October were really nice. I painted this over two sessions and on reflection I think I added a bit too much detail. on my second visit, much of the bric-a-brac outside of the bookshop had been repositioned but fortunately I had most of it in already. The sun goes down really quickly at this time of year and the sky is consequently a little lighter than it should be in relationship to the foreground. I still feel that it worked well enough not to make any drastic changes so left it as it was.
